Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Entrance to Holy Theophony

I know that Europe is liberally dotted with churches like these, but our only Orthodox church, Holy Theophony, is a very unique presence in Colorado Springs. For one thing, though it's considered a very religious city Colorado Springs does not have a lot of religious diversity. It's mostly Christian (of the evangelical, megachurch sort -- see New Life Church) and Catholic. I have been a wedding photographer for 19 years now, and in that time I've shot only two Jewish weddings and one Greek Orthodox wedding in Colorado Springs.

This is the west facade of Holy Theophany, with a fantastic mosaic over the doors. You can read about the construction of this particular church here: http://www.theophany.org/ourChurch_newTemple.htm

That mosaic is lovely! When I first looked at it, I thought it was stained glass.

That's a nice shot. Churches ought to look like churches, not like a Walmart!
