I have a few Buddhist friends who display these little Tibetan prayer flags at their homes. I see these everywhere, usually festooning someone's house, strung from the front yard tree to the eaves of the porch. I never really understood exactly what they're all about, so I finally just looked it up. It turns out the yellow one stands for victory, the green for compassion, red for wish fulfillment, white for purification, and blue for health and longevity. So there, now you can say you know what all of these are for!
These particular flags were displayed outside of the Everest Tibet Imports store in Old Colorado City on a windy day last week.

I've never seen those flags before - what connection do they have to Tibet though? Do they fly the same ones in Tibet?
I don't think it's any kind of national thing like our Old Glory, it's more a religious thing. So I imagine you would see a lot of these in Tibet too since there are a lot of Buddhists there. I hope that makes sense! Thanks for visiting Tricia!

I'd love some for the garden - mabye they would help keep the birds away. They are beautiful and their meaning deep.
