Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

January 2012 Theme Day: 2011 Photo of the Year

Happy New Year! It's Theme Day for City Daily Photo bloggers. Every year on January 1st, we blog the best photo of the previous year. I never can narrow it down to just one image, so this year I'll do the same as I always do and blog a handful. I should mention that upon reviewing all my posts of the last year, there wasn't any particular image that I'm enamored with -- I just don't feel like I took any standout photos in 2011 for this blog, and for that I apologize! In 2012 I plan to remedy that situation by taking lots of killer photos for you.

The photo above was originally posted on October 24th. It was taken on the campus of the Colorado College during a photo shoot. I chose it as my photo of the year because it was such a beautiful Indian summer evening, the light was incredible and I was really enjoying myself. It really exemplifies life in Colorado Springs for me. The images below are captioned for your convenience. Enjoy!

Thanks for the nice comments! I must point out that my talented husband Pat took the photo of the RV -- isn't it great?!? I loved his photos from speed week so much, I blogged five of them. That one is definitely my favorite. It's an excellent photograph!

Some beauties here - isn't it hard to choose? I know the feeling. I find myself particularly drawn to the wrought iron fencing. Love the way you've dealt with the depth of field here. Thanks so much for your comments on my two blogs. I'd not realised you are a wedding photographer. I love photographing weddings but wouldn't dare to do it professionally. It's the candid shots I love to take.

Happy New Year to you and yours. Jilly xxx

You are being overly self-critical when you say you have no stand-out photos for 2011. All of these are winners. Your DH's photo if also fine. My favorite is the fountain. Love the water drops.
