Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Antique ore car

This old ore car can be found in Old Colorado City, and it dates back to the the days of the gold rush. Pikes Peak or bust! These days it's all about tourism and the military, but our city was originally built on three things: tubercolosis, the railroads, and gold. Old Colorado City is deep on the west side of Colorado Springs. Did you know that it was the original capital of Colorado? Now it's filled with pretty little shops and restaurants, but back in the day it was a rough and tumble gold town.

Here's a close up shot of the placard on the ore car, so you can read about its origins:

I love all the rust on the ore car - it looks it's age!!!

I also like the reflections in the window behind - delightful yellow accents!!!
