Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Here's Waldo! And Waldo, and Waldo, and Waldo...

Why are all these people downtown dressed as Waldo? They've just participated in the Waldo Waldo Charity 5K Walk/Run to benefit Waldo Canyon, which, as you probably remember, was torched in a horrible fire last summer.  According to the website, proceeds from the run go to "the restoration and maintenance of Waldo Canyon as well as other parks, local trails and open spaces in Colorado Springs." Pat and I took a quick spin through America the Beautiful Park, where the event originated, and there were scores of people (estimated participants numbered 2,874) in red and white striped shirts! It was pretty amazing to see so many people out there supporting such a good cause.

If you're not familiar with the character we call Waldo (in England I believe he's called Wally), here's a wiki on him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where's_Wally%3F, or follow this link to his official site: http://findwally.co.uk/. Have a great day, everyone!

[ And I'd like to give a little shout out to my brother: happy birthday, Chuck! ]

Wait, where's Waldo?

Waldo Canyon was our absolute favorite hike when we lived in the Springs. We have spent so much time there and were devastated when the fire broke out just days after our wedding. We sadly haven't been able to go back to the Springs since, but if I *have* to live in the states again, it would definitely be Colorado Springs! We love that city and the community!

Ah, Waldo, you elusive fashion challenged fellow...

Good shot, and it sounds like a good cause!
