Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Skywatch Friday

This is one of my favorite homes in the city. I've always loved this house on El Paso Street. We have very few stone or brick homes downtown -- almost all of them are wooden, because up until 2012 we never had a catastrophic fire in our city. Denver, however, did burn extensively in 1863, so there are lots of brick and stone buildings to be had there; Pueblo, to the south of us, had a brick factory and provided the bricks for Denver's rebuilding, and thanks to that factory, Pueblo also has lots of nice brick buildings from that era that survive to this day. But here in the Springs, it's one gingerbread Victorian after another, not to mention classic Craftsmen homes. All of them wooden. I think that's why I always liked this home so much -- it's different!

It feels very enduring. It reminds me of the style of many a home in the town where I'm spending the holidays.
