Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

The State Office Building

I can't say that I've ever really noticed this grand edifice before, nor was I even aware that Colorado had an official State Office Building. For the record, it's located across Colfax Avenue from the State Capitol Building in Denver. I did a little research and found that it was designed by William Bowman (who was the architect of many notable Colorado buildings), it was built between 1919 and 1921, and it still serves its original purpose of housing a multitude of state executive offices.

Here's a picture of it in its early days. As you can see, it hasn't changed much!

I like the architectural style. It reminds me of some around here.

It is a nice looking building. We have many state office buildings here, but they are not as grand as this one.
