Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Self-portrait

A self-portrait taken on Tejon Street in front of a beloved Colorado Springs institution, Michelle's Chocolatiers and Ice Cream. Unfortunately, after over five decades in business, Michelle's closed its doors in 2007 for non-payment of taxes. Anyone who's lived here for more than a few years has happy memories of the place, and there was a citywide pang of sadness when the news broke of its closing. The space has sat vacant ever since, its lonely storefront festooned with an incongruously cheerful ad extolling the virtues of Downtown Colorado Springs; its sidewalk is painted with a cute "teach yourself to dance" graphic.

Lately there's been a bit of hopeful buzz that Michelle's may reopen. Sigh. One can dream.
