Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Trachemys scripta

What is a Trachemys scripta, you ask? Why, it's a common "pond slider" turtle. I saw these guys basking in the sun on the CU campus in Boulder last week. I was in the middle of a portrait shoot and grabbed a quick photo of them in passing. When I was a child I had the occasional pet turtle, but now as an adult I can't decide if these guys are cute or disgusting. Ha!

I think they are cute! Occasionally I will see one in the street and I always have to stop and move it to the side of the road so it won't get hit.

You capture them basking so nicely!

There's a number of them in a pond near where I live. And others in the rivers.
