Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Shove Chapel details

A few more pictures of lovely Shove Chapel at the Colorado College (see yesterday's post). It's one of our most beautiful, stately churches. Shove Memorial Chapel was built in 1931 in the Norman Romanesque style, and it features some gorgeous stained glass windows and an impressive pipe organ. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. I have photographed quite a few weddings at Shove Chapel, but never tire of it. It's one of my favorite edifices in the entire city.

Enjoy these, and I'll post a few more pictures of Shove Chapel tomorrow.

A view of the north side of the chapel. I never noticed before, but the bell tower has a large, west-facing clock on it! The bells ring every half hour.

I love the heavy, ornate doors.

A close-up of those cool iron escutcheons. They look to be hand-hammered.

It really is beautiful, Tamera. I like the details that went into it.
