Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Sunset over Pulpit Rock

The words "sunset over Pulpit Rock" don't really make a lot of sense in this context, because this view is facing east, not west toward the sun! We had an epic thunderstorm late in the day yesterday, and when it ended Pat and I decided to drive to the far north end of town to get some dinner. We could see that the sunset was going to be a humdinger, but since I was behind the wheel and we were headed away from the best view, I resigned myself to the fact that I was not going to be in a good position to get nice pictures of it. Directly ahead of us, a bank of spectacular mammatus clouds formed, and I decided that it was worth finding a good vantage point! We exited at Rockrimmon and parked the car on North Nevada Avenue, a very busy street, where I was able to take a series of pictures from the shoulder of the road (all the while fearing for my life as cars sped past me). Pretty spectacular! Below is a pano that I created from eight images sewn together in Photoshop. Enjoy!

Quite dramatic, in both cases!

That is amazing.
