Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Rest in Pieces (Happy Halloween!)

I know that a lot of countries don't celebrate Halloween at all, and some countries sort of celebrate Halloween a little bit, but here in the good ol' USA, we love Halloween! We go crazy for it! The kids love dressing up in costumes, but so do the adults -- it's so much fun! I have many friends who make a big deal of it every year and have annual Halloween parties. Lots of folks also enjoy decorating their homes and yards in "haunted house" fashion. This year I found about four or five houses all on the same block of N. Tejon Street (just south of Caramillo) in the Old North End that were really scary! Obviously a lot of effort went into all this Halloween craziness, but it looks great and I'm sure all the little kiddos in the neighborhood get a big kick out of trick or treating on this block. It doesn't hurt that these homes are all over 100 years old -- it certainly adds to the "haunted house" vibe. I took plenty of pictures of all of them, so please enjoy these while you daydream about bags full of candy. Happy Halloween!

I'll leave you with this image of a cyclist who paused in the middle of his ride to take a few pictures. Everyone loves Halloween!

Great series of photos. There's this American guy who moved to Stockholm a few years ago. He missed Halloween so much he started a parade in Stockholm. http://www.thelocal.se/20141030/stockholms-shocking
