Yellow icicles

As I mentioned in the last couple of posts, it's been cold here lately. Really, really cold. While out and about on Wednesday, I spotted these impressive icicles hanging from the eaves of a house on Nevada and Fontanero, near my studio. I can't help but wonder why they're yellow. Yuck! Maybe it's time for this homeowner to clean out their gutters!

No doubt, if yellow is due to dirt.

We got our first snowfall today. 2 inches. No icicles yet.

I would think dirt from decomposing leaves still in the eaves would do that.
