Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

A very nice surprise in my mailbox yesterday

I do this blog for fun. I'm a full time photographer and have been for many years. Running your own business is always an adventure! Summer is my busiest season and I can get a little stressed out with the workload, but I still try and keep up with things on this little blog because it keeps me sane. And I enjoy writing. But there are certainly times when I feel a bit harried, and getting a blog post done every single day can be burdensome on top of all the work obligations that must necessarily come first. I'm not complaining, though. I've been doing this blog since 2008, and every time I start to feel a little unmotivated, something will happen to inspire me all over again. It can be as simple as a nice comment on a post, or a stranger telling me that they follow my blog (yay, people read it!), or a couple of new "likes" on the CS Daily Photo Facebook page.

Yesterday was one of those days. I didn't have a photo for today, so as always I brought a camera with me as I drove to my studio. Alas, nothing picture-worthy presented itself. I had a to-do list about a mile long in my immediate future. Just another stressful day with too much to do and too little time. When I got to my studio, what was waiting for me in my mailbox but this thank you note from one of my recent Sunday Style subjects, Hanne. What a nice surprise! With a couple of thoughtfully crafted sentences, Hanne cheered up my afternoon and made me feel great about doing this little blog every day. (She even spelled my name correctly! It's the little things, people!)

I'm a fan of a good old-fashioned thank you note. I am walking proof that being the recipient of one, especially in this day and age, is truly uplifting. So Hanne, if you're reading this, thank YOU for cheering me up on a very busy, stressful Tuesday, and I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday :^)

Tamera - I read your blog daily and love it. I just got back from visiting my mom who lives in Colorado Springs, so your blog eases my withdrawal from that beautiful place.

I am a big fan of the thank you note, so thank you for giving the thank you note a plug!!
