Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Mutant bike

Pat and were downtown yesterday, enjoying some coffee in the sun, when this guy rolled by on his crazy bike. I've seen a couple of very tall bikes around the city before -- or maybe I'm just seeing this dude over and over, I don't know. I did a little research and I determined (I think, anyway) that crazily customized bicycles like this one are loosely called "mutant bikes" (HERE's a fun little video I found on National Geographic about a man who builds mutant bikes.) It's interesting to me that this guy braved busy Tejon Street with no helmet. I imagine that bike would easily tip over, and if it did, well let's just say it could get painful falling from that height! And how the hell do you get on and off the thing? Somebody please enlighten me!

Maybe I need to build me one of these.

Perhaps he mounts it like a horse?

I can see that thing becoming a whole lot of problems very quickly.

I can see me actually dying on the thing. LOL

I felt I should comment since that is a picture of me. It is very easy to ride, and feels safer than you might imagine. People look at you while your on it. If people see you they tend not to crash into you.
