Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

International Scout

Do you remember Scouts? They were made by International Harvester in the 1960s and '70s, and had a very blockish, utilitarian look to them. I always wanted a Scout. They're just cool. Seeing this old guy in traffic the other day brought back a fond memory. I had a friend years ago who had a soft top Scout, and a bunch of us took a little road trip in it one fine summer day. I think we were headed to Boulder. The top was down and we had to shout to be heard. I took a picture of my friend Susan as we cruised along -- the sun was shining, she was wearing Ray Bans and the wind was blowing her hair into her smiling face. Susan never likes how she looks in pictures, but she's gorgeous and radiant and happy in that snapshot. I think we all have a moment like that from our youthful days, a real snapshot or maybe just a snapshot in our mind's eye, of a road trip a on perfect golden day with good friends. If you're lucky, you were riding in a cool old Scout.

I think I've seen one of these here, but years ago.
