Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

A working man's hands

These hands belong to my longtime mechanic, Ed. Whenever I need something fixed on my car, Ed's the guy! His hands always look like this. Calloused. Grease and grime under the nails, in all the creases. Scars from countless insults big and small over the years. I've been wanting to photograph Ed's hands for a while. My grandpa was a farmer, and his hands looked like Ed's, with one notable exception: he only had nine digits, having lost his left index finger in a wood chopping accident! True story!

Interesting textures to these hands.

One of my uncles lost a couple of fingers in an industrial accident... but I only noticed in my late teens when I started shaking his hand.
