Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

The Pikes Peak Summit House

This is the view when I step outside my studio door. Not bad, eh? On a clear day like yesterday, you can see the Summit House. Look closely -- I cropped in tightly for you, can you see it? There are many ways to get to the top of Pikes Peak. You can hike, run (believe it or not, there's a marathon -- the summit is is 14,115 feet above sea level, and trust me when I say there is NO OXYGEN up there!), take the Cog Railway, or drive. I've been to the summit a few times, always in a car. It's been years since the last time though, when I was up there to shoot a wedding. It was cold but it was one of the most unique and fun experiences I've had as a wedding photographer! Ironically, Zebulon Pike himself never made it to the summit himself, even though the mountain is named after him. I think that's pretty funny.
