Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

America the Beautiful Park

If you're American, you're familiar with the song "America the Beautiful." Did you know that it was written right here in Colorado Springs by Katharine Lee Bates, upon reaching the summit of Pikes Peak in 1893? More accurately, she wrote a poem called Pikes Peak, and from that poem the song came about. One of our best local parks is called America the Beautiful. Here's a little monument located inside the park to Ms. Bates and her famous words.

I like the monument design. Very fitting with the poem.
