Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

A hike to the top of Pulpit Rock

I finally made it to the top of Pulpit Rock, a hike I've been planning to complete for some time now. A few days ago I met my friend Charron at the trailhead and we had a nice walk. I wouldn't say it was easy, but it wasn't too difficult either. If you plan on doing it, I recommend wearing hiking shoes or boots, not sneakers, because it does get steep and the terrain is alternately rough and sandy. You'll need good tread on your soles. And don't forget to wear sunblock!

Here are my favorite pictures from the hike. Enjoy!
There were a few families making the hike. It's not too difficult of a trail. Even a little kid can do it.
Almost there! Nice view!
I was a little dismayed to finally reach the top only to find this graffiti. Bummer! But it's a big rock and this is just a small area. Hopefully the graffiti can be removed sometime soon.
I did not actually go to the very top, where this guy is standing (I'm afraid of heights). He was using a pickax to chip graffiti out of the rock, apparently. I don't know if he was doing more harm than good, but his heart was in the right place.

Pulpit Rock self portrait!
Here's a pano of several shots put together in Photoshop.
