Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Point of historical interest

Driving home from Buena Vista (see yesterday's post), I decided to go through Salida instead of taking Highway 24 eastward. It's only about 25 miles between the two towns. Along the way, I stopped at this point of historical interest. The sign below describes some of Zebulon Pike's trials and tribulations as he explored Colorado, including his failure to summit his namesake mountain. I guess the range pictured above (actually a composite of about five photos put together in Photoshop) is where he and his men holed up during the Christmas of 1806.
