Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Another Day, Another (HUMONGOUS) Protest

Along with millions of other people around the country and world, I participated in the No Kings protest on Saturday. Colorado Springs had an absolutely enormous turnout, an estimated 10,000 to 12,000 people. It was huge, and it was a blast! I didn't bring a camera so I just used my phone to take these photos and videos. I hope you enjoy the funny signs, I know I did.

Here's one last shot, not taken by me: these people actually conducted their protest at 14,115 above sea level at the summit of Pikes Peak! Awesome!

Oh my goodness these are all great posters, and here in Minnesota we had really good turnouts in many cities. It was a very dark day on Saturday besides with the madman that dislikes Democrats as he's a huge trump supporter (go figure right) they cautioned folks to stay away from these No Kings since he carried in his vehicle flyers for many of them here in Minneapolis and suburbs, but we stood strong and wasn't going to let a shooter keep us away. Thankfully he is in police custody, and he faces many charges. Sadly, it doesn't bring back the lives he took, including Melissa's dog Gilbert.

@21wits what happened in MN has been weighing heavily on my mind. It's just so sad. And our horrible president keeps egging these people on. I decided to go to the protest here even after I read about what happened in MN and was legitimately concerned that some nut job might try to take out protestors here on the streets. I'm so glad it was 100% peaceful and I only saw a small handful of counter protestors. Stay strong, Minnesota!

I've had a wonderful time looking at all the signs and people this past weekend. Glad you went! Even little podunk towns had turnouts....
