A row of nesting dolls displayed in the Russian Room of the Agia Sophia Coffee House deep on the west side of Colorado Springs. Agia Sophia's been around for a while, but I had never been there until yesterday. My mom, who follows this blog regularly, had read the previous two posts about Holy Theophony Church and suggested Agia Sophia for lunch -- it's affiliated with Holy Theophony. I had been meaning to visit, because I had heard that the owner of the coffee house is also a professional photographer. It's always nice to meet other pro photogs, we need to stick together! (And he was great, by the way.)
I was pleasantly surprised by Agia Sophia. It was absolutely gorgeous in there, and absolutely serene. It was also full of books -- very awesome! Books on so many interesting subjects, but mostly religion and philosophy. Instead of the usual coffee house trip hop, the music was Gregorian chants. The clientele was very hip and diverse too. Oh and the coffee was wonderful!
