The Cascade Park Apartments, in the Near North End just south of the Colorado College, originated around 1884 as the Hagerman Mansion, designed by prominent Colorado Springs citizen Winfield Scott Stratton. In the late 1930s, the second owners of the mansion, Benjamin Leftkowsky and Ethel Georgia, added to its north end and used it as a hotel. Eventually the entire property was converted into apartments. It's really a gorgeous collection of old buildings with an interesting history. Many, many of my friends have lived there over the years, including Pat's brother (meanwhile I lived across the street in the Hazlehurst Double Residence). All of the apartments are unique, and the property is lovingly maintained. A very unique, historic and elegant place to live!

The architecture is tremendously appealing!
I think it's mostly Jacobean, and the additions have a lot of Art Nouveau details. It's really gorgeous!
