Today is my blog's birthday! Exactly eight years ago I made my first post, featuring a very underwhelming photo that I took at a Denny's restaurant late at night. It didn't have anything at all to do with Colorado Springs, but it was the start of something good. In fact, the very next day I was on the hunt for pictures of my fair city, and I'm still at it! I told myself I'd do this blog for as long as it continued to be fun. Eight years later and I'm still having fun, so here we are!
So without further ado, here's a great photo that I took last week of the famous Balanced Rock in the Garden of the Gods. It's one of the few times I've managed to get a shot of this rock formation with no tourists in the frame. There were certainly tourists around (I chatted with a guy from Chicago and two nice ladies with Caribbean accents who turned out to be from Florida), I just got a lucky few people-free seconds to get a picture.
Have a beautiful day! I feel like I should have a celebratory piece of cake or something. Hmmm! ;^)
Edit: Thanks for all the lovely comments today, guys! One of the comments, by regular reader KT, asked for a link to that very first blog post. Here it is, dated November 17, 2008: http://csdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2008/11/welcome-to-colorado-springs-daily-photo.html Enjoy!
