Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

The Briarhurst Manor

This is the beautiful Briarhurst Manor in Manitou Springs, just west of Colorado Springs. It's a fine restaurant and events venue now, but it was originally a single family dwelling, if you can believe that. Can you imagine living in such a grand, luxurious mansion? Today I had to go to the Briarhurst on a business-related errand, so I took a moment to grab a snapshot. Even in the dead of winter it's a lovely place. If you've lived in the area for any length of time, you've probably attended a wedding here, or perhaps your company Christmas party or Mother's Day brunch. Guaranteed this place will be swarming with well-dressed couples the day after tomorrow (Valentine's Day!).

Of course, since I'm a wedding photographer I find myself at the Briarhurst Manor quite a lot! I have no complaints, though, because the food is excellent and I love the staff. And of course, it's hard to take a bad picture here -- it makes me look good! ;o)

«Louis» had forgotten about this mansion. It has been more than 20 years since he's been to Colorado or Manitou Springs.

I especially love the lacy eaves and the wonderful texture of the stonework!

Yes it is beautiful, even in winter!
