A golden facelift
While at the Denver Art Museum last Saturday, I captured this shot of Colorado's capitol building through a window. As you can see, the capitol is currently getting a much-needed facelift. Yes that's gold covering the dome, which is very appropriate since Colorado came of age during the Gold Rush (you know, "Pikes Peak or bust!" and all that). If you're curious, you can read a very interesting article about the restoration here in the New York Times: http://travel.nytimes.com/2011/09/23/us/gold-to-the-rescue-to-fix-denver-capitol-dome.html?_r=0
I'll try and remember to visit the capitol again after its restoration is completed, so I can take a picture of it for you :^)
(P.S. This photo's got plenty of sky in it, so I guess I'll call it a Skywatch Friday shot. To see more Skywatch Friday shots from bloggers all over the world, click HERE.)

Very nice shot of the dome and its pretty gold top. The gold was a perfect choice for it.
Great picture!
Great shot. It was covered when I was there last month.
Ooh, yes, please! This small peek is already great—the final restoration must be awesome.
