In the sky with diamonds
We had heavy fog on Saturday night, so much so that there were driver advisories -- I can't remember the last time that happened in my years here, if ever. Sunday dawned frigid cold, creating hoarfrost on every available surface, especially the plants and trees. Even more unusual, the frost did not melt away, even though the sun shone bright. It was just too cold outside for it to make much of an impact. Sometime in the mid-afternoon, Pat and I decided to go out and capture a few images of the beautiful frost. We didn't make it past our driveway before I got my first two great shots. I especially love the photo at the top of this post. I've never noticed before how our trees form a heart directly above where I park my car every day.
