Fire Station 2

I just happened to be on San Miguel and Weber yesterday when a fire truck returned to its home at Station 2, backing expertly into its spot in the garage. I think this is the coolest fire station in town. It's tiny and it dates back to 1938 (the original Station 2 was built in 1896 on the same site).

This is a very residential neighborhood. When I was in college, I had a friend who lived across the street from Station 2. I noticed that the fire trucks never, ever turned on their sirens when they left for a call -- they always kept as quiet as possible so as not to disturb the neighbors.

That fire station is definitely the coolest one I have ever seen. Nice that they are considerate of the neighbors!

A neat firehouse. I've lived not too far from stations, and never had a problem with the sirens.

I agree it does look more like a home.
