This is Sacred Heart Church, located on the northeast corner of Colorado Avenue and 21st Street, on the city's west side. I have always loved its Mission style architecture, so austere and symmetrical. I know that it's quite old but I can't find any information as to when it was built, or anything about its history at all, actually. I can tell you that it's hard to get a good photo of its exterior! It's not set back from the road at all, so you have to stand across the street and wait for a break in the traffic to get a good shot at it. But it's worth the trouble! I think Sacred Heart one of the most interesting and beautiful churches in our city. (By the way the interior is equally lovely. I have photographed my share of weddings at Sacred Heart and it's always a treat.)
September 19, 2017 edit: I've just learned that it was established in 1922. That sounds about right.

Tomás.
It's beautiful. It is an architectural style you won't see here.
I remember this church from my childhood (50 years ago!). This is a great shot - as you say, you really can't see the church from the sidewalk in front of it - you have to crane your neck way up.
It's a lovely church.
