This is the fourth time these striking whooping cranes have made an appearance on my blog, but it's been a while (the last time was June of 2014) so I figured it wouldn't hurt to repeat myself. I took these photos yesterday afternoon, when I had a few spare minutes to drive around and look for interesting subjects. The sculpture is The Rites of Spring and it was created by artist Kent Ullberg. You can find it on the corner of Cascade Avenue and Monument Street, south of CC.

I like them.
I really enjoyed the article and the photos are lovely. Is there a story behind the sculptures and if so, where might one find this story?
Thank you!

Pam, thanks for the comment! I did a blog post a few years back with a little more info on this sculpture, you can find it here: http://csdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2010/09/whooping-cranes.html
I don't know much else about it but maybe you can track down the artist, Kent Ullberg. Good luck!
