The little strip mall behind my studio is called the Bon Center, and it's a busy place. The immediate neighborhood, consisting mostly of cute little bungalows dating mostly from the 1940s, is called Bonnie Park, after the park across the street, and it's part of the larger Patty Jewett neighborhood, on the eastern edge of the Old North End. Other than a credit union, grocery, and hardware store, all of the businesses located at the Bon Center are small and locally owned. I'm a regular habitué, since my studio is literally only a few yards away. Today I stopped by there just to take a picture of the sign. It dates from the early 1960s (the building that houses my studio was built in 1960). I hope it never changes.

It's certainly well taken care of.
