I've been enjoying sharing our vacation pictures these last few days. Today's photos were taken in Washington Square Park and Greenwich Village. I really like Washington Square Park because such a funky assortment of people gathers there. On a sunny day, New Yorkers flock in droves to the nearest outdoor space, and we found such a great scene there -- lots of musicians, artisans, even a guy making balloon animals. It was classic Wash Park! In Greenwich Village we tracked down Electric Lady Studios, Jimi Hendrix's custom built recording studio. They wouldn't let us inside (it's not a public space), but we did get to stand in the foyer and take some pictures. That was pretty cool, to be standing in the spot where many famous artists have stepped to go and record! A list of the many stars who have recorded at Electric Lady can be found HERE.
More pictures tomorrow!
This guy was sitting in a heart shaped chair and writing on a long, long scroll paper.
I'm a people watcher. I found that 99% of New Yorkers stare blankly at their phones on the subway, ear buds in. I saw exactly two people reading books on the subway in the several days we were there, and handful just stared blankly into space. And there were a few nappers, like this poor lady who just looked beat.
