Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Car and Motorcycle Show (Part 4)

Here are the last of the cool cars! The one above was a '56 Bel Air that looked pretty much stock from the outside (other than the custom paint color), but lifting the hood reveals this awesome mural! Do you recognize it? It's Mel's Drive-In from the film American Graffiti. The owner told me that he bought the car in the early '70s for $50 and it looked rough. For a long time it was a beater, but eventually he got around to restoring it, and it took years. He showed me a photo album of its progress. Now it can only be described as a beaut! By the way, that blue Chevy parked in front of Mel's Drive-In is a portrait of the car itself. Neat-o! There are a few more great old cars below. Tomorrow I'll show you some motorcycles.
I'm not a huge fan of overly customized old cars -- chopped, stretched, lowered, whatever. I'm more of a purist and I generally prefer them to look stock. But I do love an awesome custom paint job, like on this car!

Beautiful machines. I especially love motorcycles.
