Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

March 2019 Theme Day: Green

Want to know what this is a picture of? It's not a thing I intended to take a picture of today, but it was the only convenient green item around, given the circumstances. Let me explain. My friend Marie asked me a couple of weeks ago to take some portraits of her boyfriend's daughter, Rowan, who's about to graduate from high school. Today was the big day and we had all gone downtown to a hair and makeup professional to get Rowan glammed up for the pictures. As we were leaving there and walking to our separate vehicles so we could reconvene at my studio, Marie was struck by a car while crossing Nevada Avenue. It was horrible! Thankfully she wasn't gravely injured, but we ended up spending the entire day in the emergency room instead of doing our photo shoot. Marie was treated for a broken wrist and will require surgery. Meanwhile, since I didn't have a chance to go out and take a green-themed photo for the blog as I had planned on doing (I had a bright chartreuse apartment building in mind), I zeroed in on the one green thing that was in my immediate vicinity, these storage bins that were in the room where Marie was having her wrist set.

The moral to this story: be careful when you're behind the wheel, friends! Watch out for pedestrians and cyclists! The other moral: things don't always turn out as planned. 😏 For more (and hopefully better) Theme Day photos from City Daily Photo bloggers everywhere, click HERE. Have a great weekend!

What a story, Tamera. May the green of Saint Patrick’s Day bring everyone good fortune.

A good shade of green.

Fortunately your friend is on the mend, and it's not worse than it is.
