Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

The Stanley

Today I went all the way to Estes Park to do some engagement portraits in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a gorgeous day for it! On the way back out, we stopped at the Stanley Hotel because my clients wanted a quick snapshot posed in front of it. You may have heard of the Stanley as the very hotel that inspired Stephen King to write The Shining. In the book and the film, it's called the Overlook Hotel and it's creepy as hell! I don't like horror movies as a rule, but I think Kubrick's "The Shining" is brilliant, a masterpiece, and I've watched it countless times.

Anyway, as you  can see, the Stanley Hotel is quite beautiful, and yes, it can be a little creepy I suppose, but that's part of the fascination. If you're ever in Estes Park you should check it out (it's hard to miss). To learn more about this famous Colorado landmark, click HERE.

It is a show stopper on the outside.
