A photo I took last July at the Broadmoor. I must have been there shooting a wedding. These ornamental brass flourishes adorn the pillars at the entrance.
The hotel has been closed for months now thanks to the pandemic, and it looks like they are finally set to reopen on June 28th, according to their website. I think it's kind of ironic that the Broadmoor was built in 1918, when the Spanish flu was rampant. In its 102 year existence, I don't think it's ever been closed down like this, or if it has it certainly wasn't for months. I've lived here since 1979 and I can say that I have never known the hotel to close. It's just weird. The Broadmoor is part of our city's DNA. The reality of it being completely shut down is a little discombobulating.

I like your black and white photos! Sort of suit our moment in time. Katie
