Running Hot and Cold
The pretty picture I posted yesterday was taken on Saturday; it was 95° outside and I was waiting for a client. It felt a little like I was being roasted alive. Sunday was even hotter, and yesterday was in the same ballpark before the temperatures plummeted overnight. Today we had this. This is a picture of my bee and butterfly garden this afternoon. The last time I remember getting snow this early in the season was about 20 years ago, when I shot a wedding that was practically ruined by foul weather (and, if I remember correctly, an extremely tardy limousine driver). Tonight it's going to dip down into the twenties. Yesterday I urgently harvested as much as I could from my vegetable garden and covered the entire thing with plastic, then moved all my container plants indoors. We'll see in a couple of days what survived this very early cold snap.

It's not quite that cold here yet, but it's cooled down enough that I've taken out my hoodie sweater for the first time since May.
Geez. Colorado is feeling like Texas weather. Toast one day, freeze the next. Good for you to gather in your crops!
