Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Late August in the Demonstration Garden (Part 4)

Just another interesting plant in the Demonstration Garden, and again, I have no idea! The trumpet shape reminds me of a morning glory, but this is a bush, not a vine. Perhaps it's this flower that gives way to the interesting seed pod in yesterday's post.

11/26/2020 edit: fellow City Daily Photo blogger Linda at The View from Squirrel Ridge tells me this is jimsonweed, a.k.a. datura, and a quick look at Wikipedia tells me that the interesting seed pod in yesterday's post is the same plant.

Yea for Linda. I recognize the flower and knew I'd seen that weird seed pod before, but she was on the mark.
As I recall, there are often various properties ascribed to it that are mind enhancing, but I think mostly it's just poisonous. But I dunno.
