Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Ute Trading Post

This classic old sign can be found on the east side of Manitou Springs, on the north side of Manitou Boulevard. Though the town may be undergoing a bit of a spruce up these last few years, it's still our beloved funky, familiar old Manitou.

Very well weathered.

Well, I just learned something. I had to go to wikipedia, and look the Ute up, as I didn't know they had occupied the relatively eastern parts of Colorado. But a quick read told me they did, and the plains tribes moved in to predominate. I am sure it is a more complicated story than that, just as your old sign suggests. Thanks for keeping on posting!!!
