Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Too Much of a Good Thing?

Our downtown is going through yet another reinvention. The last few years, the push has been to add more living space by either converting existing old buildings to lofts and apartments or tearing down the old to build the new. It bums me out when it's the latter (though thankfully it's been more the exception than the rule). Even though it's great to have a vibrant downtown full of hip and cool buildings, I have to admit that is pains me to see favorite old structures disappear overnight. This new construction is going up on the site of what was once an old garage that I always admired for its midcentury lines. Then again, I'm sure some other old building was torn down long ago to make way for that garage. Progress can be painful.
