Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

It Never Ends, Does It? It Will Never, Ever End.

Sorry for the tardy post. I worked late and afterward I was so tired, I didn't remember to do a blog entry until it was past midnight. I'll backdate this to make it March 31st.

If you live in the US, I'm sure you heard about the mass shooting at the King Soopers supermarket in Boulder on March 22nd.  Ten people were killed. I have friends who live in that neighborhood and shop at that supermarket. It could have been them who died. I'm so glad it wasn't, but the fact that anyone there died at the hands of a gunman that day is unacceptable. I do not understand why our government officials cannot stand up to the gun lobby and pass common sense legislation. It is actually harder to get a drivers license than it is to get a gun in many parts of the United States. That is ridiculous.

As for me, on March 22nd I went grocery shopping too. Monday's my day to take care of such things. To think that I could have been murdered in my tracks while picking out a half gallon of milk on a Monday afternoon is just beyond belief. Our society is sick. Something has to change. We need to vote out these idiots and put compassionate humans in charge. I'm sick at heart.

A couple of days ago Pat and I went grocery shopping at the King Soopers on Uintah, and immediately inside the door we were greeted by this sign. There's really nothing you can say to bring solace. I grieve with the loved ones of the people who were murdered in Boulder on March 22nd, and the loved ones of the eight people killed in Georgia the week before.

Oh what a tragedy each and every shooting is Tamera, I feel your pain and sorrow 💙 It really has become a situation when someone leaves their home in the morning there's not a 100% chance they will return, and I know that basically is the same everywhere but even more so in the US where guns are so easily available. You take care of yourself, I can read in your words you are shocked and grieving 🌷

It is so hard to read.

Utter madness.

The gun lobby will never see reason, and they have too much influence over too many politicians.

Yes. It is horrid. Week after week after week. More and more. And no limit on those guns with big magazine and rapid firing. No hunter needs those. Soldiers do in the awful business of war. But how many people do most of us need to kill within the space of a few minutes....? Just a wee bit of gun control might help that. I grew up around guns for hunting. Never did do much after the age of 8. Simply do not understand any of it.
But I"m old.
