A new mural in Old Colorado City depicts a Native American, presumably of our local Ute tribe, an old-timey blue collar worker of some sort enjoying some spirits, a barmaid or perhaps a prostitute of the same era, and another Native American. Colorado City was known as a district of ill repute during frontier times, as neighboring Colorado Springs was dry. If you wanted a taste of real nightlife, this is where you'd go. I guess you could say it was kind of like Las Vegas in that regard. I like how this mural pays tribute to that part of our local history.
