Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Cheyenne Mountain Resort (Part 3)

An even tighter view of the foothills from the patio at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. You can clearly see what used to be called Ski Broadmoor. That's right, we actually had a ski slope in Colorado Springs. Okay, not a great one, and the snow had to be mostly manmade because we don't get enough snowfall here to support skiing, but hey, we did have an actual ski facility from 1959 to 1991. (And it was owned by the Broadmoor, of course -- they own everything.) When I was in college, my boyfriend was a ski instructor there. There were only two runs and by all accounts they were crappy, but people still fondly remember Ski Broadmoor as part of our city's culture and history.

Quite a setting for it though.
