For years there's been a little book store next to the Dale Street Café called the Book Home. The other day, Pat and I happened to be on that block and I noticed that the Book Home was closed, and moreover, the building that housed it appeared to be in a wretched state, almost as if it had been vandalized. Windows broken, siding violently torn off. What a pity! (Especially as it's one of our few examples of Italianate architecture. I took a few pictures, and as you can see, there are still books inside. I wonder what happened.

Fire, maybe?
I look for signs of a fire but didn't see any (no scorch marks, etc). It's a mystery!
Speaking of books.....???? Did you lose interest in Isabella?
Hi Judith! Definitely not, just working something like 65-70 hours a week and spending most of my minuscule free time on yard work! Woe is me! No time for reading. I'm having to wait until fall before I'll have time to do any pleasure reading. Sigh!
