Last Sunday I shared some groovy jeans worn by a lady at the fabric store, and I promised to show you her sewing project this week. She was buying some purple fabric, so by way of making small talk I asked her what it was for; she told me it was to be used as a lining for a jacket, which she had in a plastic bag on her arm. I coaxed her to show it to me and was dumbfounded when she told me that she had done all of this embroidery herself, and by hand! And it had only taken her a couple of weeks to do it! My hands ache just contemplating this. The purple fabric was a perfect match to that incredible embroidery. I'm sure the whole project came out stunningly. What a talent!

Fine needlework always astounds me. I have zero patience. My grandmother could do it.
