The first of every month is Theme Day for City Daily Photo bloggers everywhere, and I couldn't be happier with the theme this time around: garden! If you're a follower of this blog you know that I'm an obsessed gardener and I often share pictures of the fruits of my labors. Technically we've got a few gardens: there are a couple of foundation gardens (front and back), a bee and butterfly garden at the top of our backyard, a lavender garden, a secret garden, a vegetable garden, a polytunnel with more veggies and herbs growing in it, several plants in containers on the back patio, and another bee and butterfly garden in the front yard next to our driveway, where I took these pictures a few days ago. We had a very cold and rainy spring and have had a hot summer so far, so the flowers are plenteous while also hurrying through their life cycles, which I think must be to make up for lost time. I've been on top of deadheading to keep the blooms coming, thus many are still abundantly in flower, although some plants are pretty much already "done" for the year, so to speak.
