Still plenty of flowers in both of our bee and butterfly gardens! Which brings all the pollinators to the yard, natch. What is this, actually? It looks like a wasp but Pat has recently put two wasp traps in the backyard and believe me when I say they're effective, so is this some kind of bee instead? You tell me!

Looks like what we call a yellow jacket where I live (central TX) and they seem fond of my orange trumpet vine flowers. Not very many of them at a time...but occasionally. The ones here do sting. If you upset them.
Argh. Should have listened to Dean Martin before I wrote. oh my. I am old enough to remember that. Sheesh.
