As I mentioned yesterday, a couple of weeks ago we took a drive eastward to Ellicott to run an errand. Truth be told, the errand could have come to us, but we were up for a good drive. The distance from our front door to our destination was only about 25 miles, but it was like night and day from here to there. The farther east you go from Colorado Springs, the flatter the landscape and the fewer the people. The transition from city to sparsely populated prairie ranchland is quite rapid. The eastern plains have their own special kind of beauty, if you ask me, so when we were finished with our errand we just kept on going for another 15 or 20 miles. Nice views out there. And quiet, so quiet.
And now, for your listening pleasure...

My kind of country. Weird, but true.
