Leaf Peeping

On Friday I went leaf peeping with my friend JB. First we hit up Mueller State Park, then we headed west on Highway 67 to Cripple Creek and Victor. The aspens were peaking and they looked magnificent! Here's what we saw.

Great Autumn views.

Wow, what are those red ones?? I haven't ever seen those in the Rockies, but then, I've been only 6 or 7 times in leaf season..
All lovely photos. Thanks. Victor was a big hit with me, 40-50 years ago. Wonder what it looks like now. Seems like my first sighting of it was coming in from Phantom Canyon road, a dirt road encountered somewhere west of Pueblo, but I could have things mixed up.

@JudithK I think those may also be aspens, which is kind of strange since that's not their normal fall color! I guess they're just especially fiery this year. Victor is still small but hanging in there just fine. The downtown is half run down, half cute and in good repair, if that makes sense. Like many a small town!
